A collective of artists– including Frank Gehry, Richard Serra, John Baldessari, Ed Ruscha, Bruce Nauman, Claes Odenburg, and Chris Burden– have teamed up to show support for President Obama’s re-election campaign.
“Artists for Obama” is a portfolio of limited-edition prints from 19 different artists (see a full list here). The portfolio is available to “purchase” in exchange for a $28,000 donation to the Obama Victory Fund. A total of 150 portfolios were created, which would amount to a potential total of $4.2 million in raised funds.
The initiative will be unveiled at a September 13 event at Gemini G.E.L., a Los Angeles-based gallery, with tickets priced between $300-500. In the meantime, a preview of the portfolio is available online.
For those unable to attend the West Coast event, a similar unveiling will occur in New York on September 24.
