Your Weekend Guide to the Chelsea Galleries
Tags: Chelsea, Galleries, New York, Weekend Guide
It’s September, which in the art world equates to the start of a new season: galleries, museums and auction houses are all revving up for new shows, exhibitions and sales. For New Yorkers, it also means the start of reality: no more sun-filled beach-bound vacations. It’s the weekend, and you’re in Manhattan!
If you’re not sure how to spend your first weekend at home, consider the plethora of Chelsea galleries that are finally opening their doors after a lazy summer of inactivity. Here at the Art World Daily, we’ll be putting together weekend guides to help you on your gallery-hopping tours. These printable guides will include links to galleries, maps and a convenient section to jot down your thoughts.
This week’s guide includes Chris Dorland at the Winkleman Gallery (shown), Karen Kilimnik’s flags at the 303 Gallery (think Alighiero Boetti plus Judith Lieber) and Marc Séguin’s An Illustrated Guide for Aliens at the Mike Weiss Gallery.
Happy hunting!
