Norway Will List Munch Frieze in Kraft Foods Cafeteria

Tags: , ,

A building cafeteria (above, left) owned by Kraft Foods Norway that contains a frieze of 12 paintings by Edvard Munch, completed in 1922, will be listed by Oslo’s heritage agency to prevent it from future change, removal or sale.

The planned sale of the cafeteria prompted the agency to act quickly.

“This is a very important work by Munch,” a representative of the agency said, “and the expected change of ownership made us consider listing the piece to preserve it for the future.”

No information regarding price or interested bidder for the cafeteria has been released.
