Quentin Tarantino, the Oscar-winning director of Pulp Fiction and mastermind behind other such classics as Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds and Kill Bill will be honored at a December 3 gala at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
It will be the museum’s 5th annual film benefit.
“As a celebrated auteur director, Tarantino has leveraged his deep knowledge of cinema history to engage, entertain, and inform a new generation of movie fans. Honoring him is a small way to pay homage to the important service he has done to propel and promote the art form,” said Rajendra Roy, The Celeste Bartos Chief Curator of Film at MoMA.
Tarantino’s latest film, Django Unchained, hits theaters on December 25 and stars Leonardo di Caprio, Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington.
